Project Veritas seems to have done it again. According to them, the FBI has circulated an internal memo, where they define anyone who uses certain imagery and/or symbols in reference to anti government thoughts as a Militia Violent Extremist. I will get to some of the symbols in a minute, but they take great care to say in the memo:
“The use or sharing of these symbols alone should not independently be considered evidence of MVE presence or affiliation or serve as an indicator of illegal activity as many individuals use these symbols for their original, historic meaning, or other non-violent purposes.“
While this is of course true in nearly every case where these symbols are used, since this is coming from the leftist Biden administration, they mean the exact opposite.
The left has been building toward something like this for a long time and now it’s been codified in an internal, law enforcement sensitive, FBI memo. The symbols they list as indicators of violent extremists would be laughable if they didn’t have the authority of the FBI behind them. And we all know how far they are willing to go to persecute anyone who doesn’t toe the leftist line. The Boogaloo Flag, the Anarcho-Capitalism flag, (Eric July is definitely on their radar), The Punisher Skull which they list as being used by III%ers and Spartan Helmets. My first exposure to the punisher skull was a comic book, followed by seeing it as a symbol of some military units. One of the logos we use here at the liberty cast is a spartan helmet.
The memo says that the second amendment is used by Militia Violent Extremists is used to “justify their existence” due to the mention of a well regulated militia in the text. Molon Labe and all of its variants (ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ, Μολὼν λαβέ) which is commonly translated into “come and take them.”, the electrical resistance symbol and the black and white or all black American Flag which is flown by some to show that no quarter will be given.
Other imagery listed are the Gadsden Flag, Revolutionary War imagery, the liberty tree and the Betsy Ross flag. The memo goes on to list some phrases like “When Tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty.”, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”, and “I will not comply.”
These are traditional symbols, and phrases that patriotic Americans have used since the inception of this country. Now the Biden DOJ seeks to use that to put such patriotic Americans on a watch list, by linking these symbols and phrases to alleged violent extremists.
