I was finishing up a piece about the two gun control bills just passed in the house when I heard the news that Dianne Feinstein, gun control maven of the Senate introduced yet another “Assault Weapons” ban. Considering how close the Senate is, that the anti-constitution crowd is in the majority in the house, and that the left is as emboldened as they have ever been to enact their radical agenda, this is a scary proposition.
Feinstein and Cicilline just introduced this bill so it doesn’t have a number yet, but it is nearly a copy/paste of the other assault weapons ban bills that she has introduced in the past. It is 125 pages long, but most of that is just a list of firearms to be banned should this ridiculous bill get shoved up the collective ass of the American people. There is also a list of firearms exempted from this bill, but this is a massive infringement on our rights, so their attempt to appear reasonable with this concession and grandfathering in currently owned rifles means precisely dick. So what would happen if this gets pushed through to Biden’s (or Harris’) desk? It’s ground we’ve covered before, but let’s take another look at what will be in store.
If Feinstein’s bill is signed in to law, it will, among other things:
- Ban all AR platform rifles and their variants, including pistols if it has a stabilizing brace
- Ban all AK platform rifles and their variants, including pistols if it has a stabilizing brace
- Ban some semi automatic shotguns
- Define the term “assault weapon” broadly similar to Commiefornia and other states
- Ban standard-capacity magazines that can accept more than 10 rounds
- Mandate “safe storage” of your firearm
I said before; they are on the precipice. If they are successful at ramming this through, we will have no one to blame but ourselves. Well, except for the leftists who cheated their way in to office, but that’s a whole other discussion because we’ve been ceding ground to the left on guns for a long time. We’ve elected RINOs in to office who offered no resistance to these infringements, we the people have accepted infringements like licenses and gun free zones. We’ve allowed the Overton window to shift to such a degree that some of the things being proposed now sound reasonable to those who do not share our passion for preserving the second amendment. We’re way past the time to fight, but it’s not too late yet. Call your Senators, call your representatives and let them know that they must oppose this bill and persuade as many of their colleagues to oppose it as well. If we let this happen it will spell disaster for our right to keep and bear arms, because it will not stop with this. A registry and confiscation will be next on the Anti-American Left’s hit parade toward total disarmament of the American people.
