Deputy Sheriff James Driver, a reserve deputy of the Monroe County Indiana Sheriff’s Office, was killed in a vehicle crash while responding to an injury accident.
An oncoming vehicle pulling a trailer attempted to stop, but the driver lost control. The vehicle’s trailer struck Deputy Driver’s patrol vehicle, which rolled over and ejected him. The injuries Deputy Driver sustained were fatal.
Deputy Driver had served with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for two years. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and two stepchildren.
